Out and About

Come experience the charm of traditional Cape Cod in Dennisport.  Featuring great beaches, restaurants, biking, homemade ice cream, and more.  See below for some of our recommendations.

Main Street
Dennisport
Beaches

The house is located 1 block to local businesses and restaurants including The Antiques Center, Buckies Cafe, the Natural Food Market, Jeremy's Barber, the General Store, The Red Nun Pub, The Public Library, and more.

Cape Cod
Rail Trail

The Cape Cod Rail Trail offers bike paths, hiking, scenic views, and walking trails.  Go for one mile or for all twenty-two miles through Dennis, Harwich, Brewster, Orleans, Eastham, and Wellfleet.

Theatre

The Cape is a great place to see a show.  For independent films, the Cape Cinema in Dennis -- for a concert or comedian, the Melody Tent in Hyannis -- for a play or musical, the Cape Playhouse in Dennis.  Click here for info about other great entertainment, live music, and open mics in pubs, clubs, and other venues on Cape Cod.

Restaurants

Certainly too many restaurants to name, but Cape Cod Life has some info for foodies to consider.  Additionally, our recommendations include Chapins for fresh family friendly fare and Brax Landing for a brunch buffet on the deck overlooking Wychemere harbor.  Bring your sweatshirts.  Be sure to incorporate a walk to the Sundae School into your vacation ritual.

The house is .6 miles from Inman Rd Beach, just one of the many options for a beach day in Dennisport.  Click here for a list of great beaches in Dennis.  We have not discovered all of them yet, but we have our favorites.

Golf

From beginners to the more experienced players, Cape Cod's 27 public, daily-fee golf courses and 15 private facilities run the gamut of skill levels with courses that are pristine, scenic, challenging and fun.  Click here for the golf report, courses, and all things golf.

Clam Bakes
and Lobsters

The most convenient way to do Lobsters is to call Swan River Market or the Dennisport Lobster, 18 Hall St. (behind Buckies). Tell them how many lobsters, how many pounds, and what time you need them ready.  Pick them up steamed, cracked, and ready to enjoy.  Order your little necks, oysters and other fresh local fish.

Sailing, Boating, Fishing

The Cape Cod Water Web is a great site for boating, fishing, watersports, rentals and charters.  We have rented canoes and kayaks from Cape Cod Water Ways and made our way to Swan Pond and out to the beach.  Check the tides before you shove off.
